  Gene Blanton, SMA
Gene Blanton is the Operations Manager for Horizon Property Services. He has over twenty (20) years experience in the property management and maintenance industry. He began his career in the U.S. Air Force and was an Honor Graduate in USAF HVAC Training with an Honorable Discharge leading him to work in the Cherry Creek School District. His positions have also included Chief and Asst. Chief Engineer for Equity Office Properties, Cushman & Wakefield, and the Maintenance Manager for DTC Management.

Gene is personally involved in the day-to-day operations of Horizon Property Services, with all scheduled work running through him first. He has "hands-on" involvement in most of HPS' contracts and special projects. His property management background allows him to be the "eyes and ears" for his clients when they are not able to physically inspect the properties themselves. Gene knows all facets of commercial maintenance, and can make recommendations to his clients on projects, system upgrades, PM programs, or to simply make your property look better and operate more efficiently.

Gene specializes in interaction with property managers, building owners, and tenants to identify issues and create workable solutions. He personally performs periodic inspections and develops action plans to rectify issues. Gene can also work closely with other contracted vendors and general contractors to assure their compliance to specifications and remedy problems. His input and direction on tenant finish construction, capital projects, and "vacancy make-ready" work has helped many Property and Asset Managers improve and add value to their properties.

Gene is currently working towards his FMA and education in the LEED and Energy Star certification programs.
